Please contact Congressman Pearce
Ask him to
not sponsor a similar bill in the House.
Ask him to support a more realistic proposal if he really feels that a monument
with nothing exposed for the public to see is necessary. |
Please contact Senators Bingaman and
Domenici.
Ask them why they are sponsoring a bill to "protect" something that is
not exposed?
Ask them why they are pushing for a national monument when the
department of Interior recommends against it.
Ask them why the monument needs 5,300 acres when the only significant
trackways were found on less than 1000 square feet?
Let them know that you strongly oppose this bill as does 3/4 of the
people that responded to a poll about it.
Ask them to consider a more realistic bill that would not adversely
affect the local community and economy so much. |
